Interview - Summer 2001
1. What was your favourite song played in the warm-up from last season? Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus
2. What are your favourite foods? My special Pasta that I have for my pre-game meal
3. Who had the worst habit in the dressing room last season, and what was it?
I don't think anyone had a bad habit
4. Who did you get on best with in the team?
Well I got on with everybody on the team, they are all a great bunch of guys. But I think I probably got on really well with Mark McArthur, probably because we are both goalies and he was my
roommate on away trips. I learnt a lot from him and he is a great guy.
5. What do you do in your spare time between training & university?
Go to the gym, study more, spend time with friends and family and watch other hockey games (ISL and NHL)
6. Are you superstitious?
Very superstitous, I have to dress always starting on the right side and I have to warm-up and stretch at least 1 hour before the on-ice warm up.
7. Do you think being a back-up netminder to Mark McArthur was a good experience & if so why?
It was a great experience, Mark is a fantastic netminder with tonnes of experience, he has played at the top level and to play and practice with him every day was great. I learnt a lot this year even if I didn't get as much ice time as I had hoped.
8. Do you feel you should have got a lot more ice time?
During the season I did feel that there was certain games and situations where I could have played but Stan is the coach and he gets paid to make what he feels is the right decision. When you are
lying fifth in the league and our chasing the championship you need to have your best and most experienced players playing all the time and this is what Stan did and it won us 3 championships.
9. Who was the funniest player on the team?
To be honest there wasn't one guy that didn't have their moment but
throughout the season I would say that Haigy, Smithy and Reggie were the funniest.
10. Was Stan a good coach?
Stan was a very good coach, he gets you motivated before the games when he had to and made sure that we was prepared before every game. Technically Stan knows his hockey and this showed
when we were behind and came back to take the 3 championships.
